Life without snow!!

Lot of people fly to other countries for few of a valuable reasons.. Job, Career, Studies, Tour and there's a lot more to it.. But I, being a dependent visa traveler came to US for one good reason.. SNOW... The white cotton flakes falling all over the city in slow motion and filling the land with it's feathers of whiteness and making life so beautiful.. It's a bliss to watch snow falling and I have always waited to see one.

May be if I lived in the Northern parts of India I would have lived to enjoy snow but it was the southern part of India where the weather has always been from warm to hot is where I lived and grew up; For me snow is a heaven's gift...

It's been infact 10 months since I came to US and everyday has been a wait; a longing to see the first snow of my life. I believe it is every Indians wish to see snow atleast once in a life time and for me it's been a desirous passion that words can't explain. 

It happened one day though... through mid of December... the first fall of flurries through the cold winter washed away... what?? for a day?? and there was no whiteness that quite was disappointing. The flurries drifted into water and vanished out of sight even before I could realise and feel that cotton ice.. The waiting went in for a desparation and it turned out that every morning the tv started playing TWC (The Weather Channel) to see when will THAT happen in my life?? And my favorite bookmarks showed accuweather.com.. Oh what hell!!!! 

It was more than this... To play with my nerves further, some of my friends living in different other parts of the country where they never used to see heavy snowfall now experience snowfall upto 12". And people texting me with questions like "Did you experience your first snowfall yet?", And "Hey.. this is going to be your first.. You will enjoy it", and "You will be excited now but once you see snowfall you will want it to go away" Oh!! This has become a prestige issue all over.. And all these questions will have an answer only when it happens... and that is when?????? This is the big question.

I know this desperation is going to outgrow the skies one day and probably if I don't see snow in another one week I am going to plead my husband to take me to the North Pole.. which in dreams it will happen.. but it's just a wish.. 

Days goes by.. It is raining today with high temperature soaring this weekend.. Still.. I am watching the Weather Channel with hopes of snow this Sunday and Accuweather saying that it will happen only next wednesday... 

The experience of first snow.. I don't know if people think it is silly.. I will wait for that special day with all my heart!!!
